Privacy is important. This page explains TheMarketingStuff.com’s approach to privacy on our website and how it affects you.

The short and sweet

We collect anonymous statistics about your visit, like which of our pages you viewed and how long your visit lasted.

Some 3rd parties like Facebook and Twitter may know you visited this website, if you use their services. We can’t control them but we don’t believe this knowledge poses any threat to you.

If you sign up with us we take great care to keep your information safe and we’ll never share it with others without your express permission.

We never share your data with 3rd parties except to help us deliver our own services.
These are just the main points. For more detailed explanations, keep reading.

Measuring traffic and visitors

We measure visitors to our website using Google Analytics. This tool records what pages you view within our site, how you arrived at our site and some basic information about your computer and a guessed location based on some generic parameters. All the information is anonymous – so we don’t know your name, your exact location or anything identifying you personally; all we know is that someone visited our website and browsed it.

The information we collect from Google Analytics helps us understand what parts of our site are doing well, how people arrive at our site and other details to help us create a better user experience. Like most websites, we use this information to make our website better and easier to use.

You can learn more about Google Analytics or opt out if you so prefer.

Facebook, Twitter and all popular social networks

Social Media websites and services provide social buttons and similar functionalities which we may utilize on this website. Examples of these include the “Like” and “Tweet” buttons from Twitter.

For these buttons to work, we must embed code provided by said services that we have very little control over. To function, their buttons generally know if you’re logged in; for example Facebook use this to show you “x of your friends like this”. We do not have any access to that information, nor do we have any control how those networks use it. For these cases, you  must review their privacy policies and make a decision on whether to use them or not. Please visit their websites to find their Privacy Policies and Terms of Service.

It is possible that Social networks could know that you’re viewing this website, if you use their services (that doesn’t mean they do, but their policies may change). Due to the nature of our website being professional and non-offensive we imagine this is not a concern for most users.

If you sign up for a service

When you sign up for any of our services – paid or otherwise – we will record specific personal information about you, such as your name and email address.

We will also collect and store information about your use of our services. This information will help us improve our services. For example, we keep a log of activities and use of our billing or ecommerce system.

We also log account and transaction history for accounting purposes, and to monitor our business activities.

Emails

We may send you email notifications regarding your service (such as invoices) or which you have specifically requested (such as newsletters or reports). You have the ability to opt out of any of this communication at any time.

We will never provide your personal information or email address to any third parties except where they are specifically employed to help deliver our own services.

Payments Online

We use a variety of payment providers to bill for our products online. These companies will have access to your personal and payment information. When paying by credit card, TheMarketingStuff.com itself do not ever have any access to your credit card details. This information is encrypted and processed through a third party that complies with proper legal and security requirements.

The third parties we use are Stripe (to process credit cards) and PayPal (to process credit cards and accept payment via PayPal).

We share information with these companies only to the extent necessary for the purposes of processing payments you make via our website.

Web and information security

TheMarketingStuff.com takes many precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. These precautions include:

  • Use of SSL encryption for sensitive data and throughout our website
  • Hardware stored in secured datacentres behind firewalls
  • All access to information restricted by password and/or secure key
  • Restrictions to what information can be accessed via any location

Whilst we take great care to ensure any confidential information remains protected we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the Internet.

You are responsible for keeping your password and user details confidential. Nobody at TheMarketingStuff.com will ever ask you for your password, so please don’t trust anybody asking you for it. If for any reason you provide us with any passwords, we only use them to provide the service as requested but then all passwords are deleted or forgotten, please ensure you know your passwords as we will not keep records of them unless they have been requested for specific services and within the restrictions provided by our services contracts.

Data finding

TheMarketingStuff.com makes use of various 3rd party APIs and tools to collect information about websites in our reports. For example we use the Google Maps API to gather local presence information (see Google Map’s privacy policy). Other methods of behaviour analysis may be utilized but none will personally identify you unless you give us your information.

Updates to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time-to-time, particularly as technology changes. You can always check this page for the latest version. We may also notify you of changes to our privacy policy by email.
